RETARDMON RULEBOOK

The official guide to battles, cards, and degeneracy

Game Overview

Retardmon is a crypto-based trading card game where players build decks of uniquely designed creatures called "Retardmons" and battle against other players. The game features deliberately simplistic "crayon-style" artwork and meme-inspired gameplay mechanics designed for the Solana degen community.

Turn Sequence

1. START PHASE

  • Gain +1 Hopium (up to max of 10)
  • Draw 1 card from your deck
  • Apply start-of-turn effects

2. MAIN PHASE

  • Play Retardmon cards (costs Hopium equal to Retardmon's level)

Card Deployment Rules

  • You can only play cards if you have sufficient Hopium
  • Retardmons cannot attack the same turn they are played (unless they have the "FOMO" ability)
  • You can play any number of cards per turn, limited only by your resources
  • Retardmons are placed in your "Battlefield" area
  • You can have a maximum of 5 Retardmons on your Battlefield at once

Battle System

ATTACKING

  1. Select one of your Retardmons that hasn't attacked this turn
  2. Choose a target: either an opponent's Retardmon or the opponent directly
  3. If attacking a Retardmon:
    • Compare your Retardmon's Attack vs the target's Defense
    • The difference is dealt as damage to the defending Retardmon
    • If attack and defense are equal, both Retardmons take 1 damage
  4. If attacking the opponent directly (only possible when they have no Retardmons):
    • The full Attack value is dealt as damage to the opponent

DAMAGE AND DEFEAT

  • Retardmons have HP (Hit Points) based on their level and type
  • When a Retardmon reaches 0 HP, it is defeated and sent to the "Rugpull Pile"
  • Defeated Retardmons cannot return to the game unless a special ability allows it

Special Abilities

Retardmons may have one or more of these special abilities:

PUMP IT: Increase this Retardmon's attack by +2 until end of turn (costs 2 Hopium)

HODL: Prevent all damage to this Retardmon for one turn (costs 3 Hopium)

FUD: Decrease an opponent's Retardmon's attack by -2 until end of turn (costs 2 Hopium)

APE IN: Draw 2 additional cards (costs 3 Hopium, 1 Degen Dust)

RUGPULL: Destroy an opponent's Resource card (costs 1 Hopium, 2 Degen Dust)

FOMO: This Retardmon can attack the same turn it's played

MOON: Double a stat of your choice for three turns (costs 4 Hopium, 1 Degen Dust)

SER: Adjacent Retardmons cannot be targeted by opponent abilities (passive)

NGMI: Force opponent to discard a random card (costs 2 Hopium, 1 Degen Dust)

DIAMOND HANDS: Reduce damage taken by 50% for 2 turns (costs 2 Hopium)

Winning the Game

A player wins when one of the following conditions is met:

  1. All opponent's Retardmons are defeated, and the opponent cannot play a new Retardmon on their turn
  2. The opponent runs out of cards in their deck and cannot draw
  3. The opponent's HP reaches 0 (each player starts with 20 HP)
  4. The opponent forfeits the match
